U.S. Customs Duty – Simple Guide for Customers

What to Do if You Were Charged Too Much Duty

  1. Check your DHL invoice – look for a line called Duty/Customs Tax. This is separate from shipping.
  2. Call DHL U.S. Duty Office at +1 866 638 7668.
  3. Tell them:
    – You are the Importer of Record.
    – The product is a muzzle brake (rifle accessory).
    – Correct codes: 9305.20.8060 + 9903.01.25 (10% tariff).
    – Reference CBP Ruling N351245.
  4. Email them the PDF ruling (we can resend it).
  5. Ask for a correction/refund if more than 10% was charged. If you see a 50% duty, this is incorrect – do not pay it. Request correction to 10%.

Why There’s a “Tax”

– This is a U.S. government import tariff, not a shipping cost.
– DHL only collects it for Customs.
– By law, our product has a 10% duty when entering the U.S.
